In customer surveys one thing that businesses said made the biggest difference with Tierzero was proactive monitoring. Time after time we notify our customers of problems and solve them before they even know they are a problem.
Tierzero does not charge extra for Proactive 24/7 Monitoring like some of our competitors. We include it with your service because it makes sense you would expect it as part of your service.
Our Customer Care Specialists monitor your circuit around the clock 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Not only do we respond if your circuit goes down, we can tell if the line is having problems and may go down. In both cases we immediately spring into action and take proactive steps to insure your up-time. In the event your circuit goes down we open a trouble ticket and contact you to make sure you have not turned off the router or there is a power outage at your site. If there is trouble on the circuit we run tests to determine if the problem is with the phone company portion of the line or with the wiring in your building – this happens in minutes. In the event of phone company trouble we immediately escalate leveraging our volume purchasing power with the phone company. Tierzero is the largest wholesale customer with the largest telephone company in California. That means we can get trouble resolved in minutes that takes others hours or days. Many times we do this work in the early hours of the morning before your team gets to the office saving you lost time in productivity. If the problem is with a Tierzero provided router or the inside wiring leading up to the router we will dispatch one of our field techs to quickly resolve the problem. We know your business Internet access is critical to your operation so we do everything we can to keep it running trouble-free.

Tierzero Business Ethernet FAQ’s
What is Business Ethernet?
Business Ethernet is a new way of delivering broadband Internet access to your business that utilizes the existing copper infrastructure in the same way that T1 broadband does. However, Business Ethernet is different from T1 because it utilizes the modern networking standard of Ethernet vs. the antiquated standard of T1. Ethernet is much more durable and robust than T1 and therefore easier to maintain and operate for carriers. This means you get faster speeds at lower prices.
Why is Business Ethernet less expensive than T1?
Where T1 needs 2-4 copper pairs, they need to be very carefully conditioned end-to-end. With Business Ethernet more pairs are utilized (up to 10), but the amount and type of electronics used to run Ethernet over Copper is much less. Mostly because the signal on the copper only needs to be maintained from the business premises to the nearest Telco central office. Once there, the traffic is put on a robust fiber Ethernet network back to Tierzero. With a T1, the same T1 signal needs to be maintained all the way from the business premises to Tierzero which can be miles vs. feet.
Is Business Ethernet Reliable?
Extremely. In fact, even more reliable than a T1. Because less electronics are involved, more copper pairs can be deployed for the service, so redundant pairs are actually built into the service. If one pair goes bad, you only lose the amount of speed proportional to that copper pair. If there are 10 pairs you lose one 10th, and in most cases you will have more speed than paid-for in the beginning. And the bad pair can be repaired without taking the service down. Compare this to a T1, if one pair goes bad the whole service is bad and repair takes scheduled down time.
Is Business Ethernet Secure?
Very. This is a point-to-point, secure and private connection. Unlike Cable, DSL and some Fiber services Business Ethernet is not shared with other customers.
Is the speed guaranteed?
Yes. This is not a “best effort” service like some DSL, Cable and Fiber services. Your speed is guaranteed.
Is the speed symmetrical?
Yes, the speed is both up and down. For example, when you order 5 megabits Business Ethernet you are guaranteed that 5 megabits both up and down.
Will I need any special equipment?
No. Tierzero will supply a customer premise router.
Can I keep my existing IPs?
Yes. If you have current service with Tierzero and are using Tierzero IP’s you will be able to continue on Business Ethernet using those IP’s.
Why do they call Business Ethernet plug-and-play?
Business Ethernet is said to be plug-and-play because there’s no need for expensive routers or equipment. The hand off is the same reliable Ethernet cable we’re all familiar with. Plug it into the wall and you’re good to go.
What bandwidth will I need?
Business Ethernet is highly scalable. You can start with 3 Mbps and a simple change on our end turns you up or down as you need it.
Will EoC be compatible with my LAN?
90% of all LANS are Ethernet which almost guarantees you have true plug-and-play compatibility with the LAN you have.
